CANCELLATION POLICY

Please note that Riccio is limited to a small number of attendees, to allow for a more personable, intimate experience, our cancellation policy is in place to help guests and us alike work together to maintain the best experience for the cost.

  • Riccio offers a 7 day “hold deposit” in case you are needing a week to see if this is right for you. Within said period your deposit is fully refundable. On day 8 however, your deposit becomes non refundable. Riccio must be notified of deposit hold cancellation by day 7 from the date of submission. Hold deposits are transferable to another new attendee found and assigned by original attendee contingent on approval by Riccio.

  • Full balance due 60 days before the start date of the experience unless otherwise noted. Within 60 days of your experience: we are sorry but there are no refunds given without exception.

No one books a retreat with the intention of canceling it, but unexpected events do occur. For this reason, Riccio requires the purchase of travel insurance and it is your responsibility to read and understand our cancellation policies. Exceptions cannot be made for any reason, including weather, injury/illness, or personal emergencies. No refunds or credits for failure to attend or failure to complete the retreat, or for arriving late or leaving early. We require you to purchase trip cancellation insurance in order that your trip fees will be covered should you have a medical or personal problem prior to your trip or while on the trip. Trip insurance policies should also cover medical expenses in the event you have an accident while on the retreat. Travel insurance policies must be purchased within 14 days of departure. We reserve the right to cancel retreats with inadequate participant interest, in which case all money paid to Riccio will be refunded. Notification of cancellation for this reason will occur 60 days prior to the scheduled experience start date. Riccio cannot be held responsible for any personal expenses, such as airline tickets due to changes in itineraries or retreat cancellations.

*By participating in an experience, guests acknowledge and agree to images and photos of their being and likeness being taken by Riccio and other participants and that such images may be shared at will online and publicly.

TRAVELER VALUES & GUEST CONDUCT POLICY

Riccio seeks to provide the highest level of customer service, our traveler is someone who is easy-going and amenable to change in the diverse and the sometimes unpredictable challenges that come with travel. In signing up for a trip with us, you agree to the following:

  • I am open minded, inherently curious, and enjoy indulging in the moment.

  • I find joy in stepping outside of my comfort zone, love trying new things, and am excited to explore a culture completely different from my own.

  • I understand that this is more than just a “site-seeing vacation” and that Riccio approaches travel as a tool for mindfulness. We value each experience that comes with being out of our daily routine, take changes with positive attitudes, and value the connections made on the trip - connection with other guests, connection with people we meet, new cultures, and reconnection with ourselves.

  • I have read the full itinerary and understand the style of the assigned accommodations.

  • I understand the experience I’ve chosen includes physical activity and includes quite a bit of walking. I agree that I am physically fit enough to participate or agree that if I choose not to participate in a planned group activity then no alternative plans will be made or paid for by Riccio. I.E., the need of a taxi to reach destinations otherwise scheduled by foot.

  • I understand that I am visiting a culture different than my own and things may run differently than they do back at home; things like meals may take longer to be served, etc. I will be open to and patient with these cultural differences and roll with the punches.

  • I understand that last-minute changes to the itinerary or accommodations are always possible though Riccio will always communicate these changes to me.

  • I also understand that, sometimes, things happen—flights are delayed, bad weather kicks in—but I’m ready to roll with all of that, as I would on any other trip.

  • Sometimes the best memories come from things not going as planned.

  • I understand that I can opt out of any activities on the itinerary, whenever I want. (But I promise to let my host know when I do.)

  • I understand that if issues come up on the trip, I will let my host know so that Riccio can proactively address any concerns that I may have.

  • I’m ready to meet adventurous, intelligent travelers like myself, and join in making memories in our destination together.
